FDC Utilities, Inc. (FDCUI) signed an Electric Power Purchase Agreement (EPPA) with Cebu II Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CEBECO II) for a total of 20 megawatts (MW) over a 25-year period in a ceremony held last May 21, 2012, in Bogo City, Cebu.
Attended by CEBECO II’s Board of Directors and key management staff, the EPPA signing took place as part of the electric cooperative’s agenda in its special board meeting. Vice President Randy Perez delivered a welcome message on behalf of the CEBECO II Board and recognized the presence of FDCUI officers and fellow CEBECO II colleagues. He cited the importance of this partnership in delivering enhanced electric power supply in Danao City and the neighboring towns of Northern Cebu. VP Perez extended his warm welcome and appreciation to the entire FDCUI team for coming all the way from Manila to attend this milestone event.
FDCUI President Jesus Alcordo responded with a special message, noting the significance of rural electrification and how this contributes to overall community development and nation-building. FDCUI is driven by the Gotianuns’ goals for nation-building and making a difference in the lives of Filipinos whether it be through real estate development, sugar production and distribution, financial services and banking, hospitality services or utilities. He expressed optimism in this 20-MW partnership with CEBECO II and assured everyone of FDCUI’s provision for a more reliable, stable and environmentally friendly sources of electric power.
The seven-member FDCUI team was led by its President, Mr. Alcordo. Signing on behalf of the CEBECO II was its Board Vice President Mr. Perez. FDCUI’s Marketing & Customer Service Head Mr. Mark Albert Canlas and CEBECO II General Manager Peter Señeres witnessed the agreement.
