More Power for Compostela Valley, Davao Del Norte and The Island Garden City of Samal. The DANECO EPPA Ceremonial Signing

With the signing of an amenable Electric Power Purchase Agreement (EPPA), FDC Utilities, Inc. (FDCUI) and Davao del Norte Electric Cooperative, Inc. (DANECO) celebrated this milestone in their partnership on May 15, 2012, at The Manila Golf & Country Club in Makati City.

FDCUI Board of Directors Ms. L. Josephine Gotianun Yap, Mr. Jonathan Gotianun and Mr. Jesus Alcordo (concurrent FDCUI President) led the FDCUI team in hosting the celebration. Signatories to the EPPA were Mr. Gotianun and Mr. Alcordo for FDCUI and, for DANECO, its Board President and Director Mr. Dean Briz, together with OIC-General Manager Engr. Felix Hibionada, Board Vice President and Director Mr. Eugenio Ramonida (representing NEA Project Supervisor Mr. Evangelito Estaca), Board Treasurer and Director Mr. Darjan, Jr., and Board Director Engr. Labja.

Mr. Mario Pangilinan, FDCUI executive vice president, officially welcomed both the FDCUI officers and DANECO board members present at the event. Mr. Pangilinan expressed optimism in the partnership engagement with DANECO noting that the partnership was a step towards FDCUI’s goal of enhanced electric power delivery in Compostela Valley, Davao del Norte, and the Island Garden City of Samal. Enhanced power delivery in these areas meant not only providing more reliable, stable and environmentally friendly sources of electric power, but also supporting community development in these areas.

DANECO Board President & Director Dean C. Briz provided a special message, acknowledging the importance of the partnership for the 20-MW project in furthering the development of the aforementioned provinces in Mindanao. Mr. Briz also expressed interest in possibly increasing energy requirements in the future.
