The Legal Counsel takes the lead on recommending solutions to legal issues involving joint venture operations to solar, water, energy efficiency services, and other head office support operations. Duties involve drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts and other legal documents, monitoring and supervising permit compliances, and researching and drafting legal opinions and memoranda.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Contracts Management

  1. Draft, negotiate and review contracts and legal documents, to document legal rights and obligations and/or comply with legal documentation requirements affecting joint venture operations of solar, water, energy efficiency services, and other head office support operations.
  2. Issue legal opinions on contract interpretation and implementation in coordination with appropriate departments, to clarify legal rights and obligations;
  3. Prepare letters and correspondence in connection with legal issues referred.

 

Permits Compliance Monitoring

  1. Supervises permits and compliance for business development, solar, water and energy efficiency operations from government agencies, through coordination with appropriate departments, management and supervision of legal officers / paralegals, to comply with legal requirements;

 

General Legal Services

  1. Development – Research, assist and provide legal support, including review of bidding requirements, for new projects.
  2. General Query – provide guidance and suggested course of action to legal issues and queries involving corporate /plant operations;
  3. Support – provide support to the Senior Manager on general legal services, including corporate housekeeping and litigation.

 

Others

  1. Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Member of the Philippine Bar
  2. At least three (3) years’ practice of law
  3. Excellent writing and legal research skills
  4. Good oral and communication skills
  5. Knowledge of computer applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint
  6. Knowledge of digital legal research tools such as Lex Libris/CD Asia
  7. Knowledge of energy industry laws, rules, and regulations
  8. Able to work well under pressure
  9. Able to work without supervision
